What We Believe

Mercy Ministries is a congregation rooted in the love of God and dedicated to worldwide transformation through revival. It is our goal for God's love to be manifest in signs, wonders and miracles as well as practical demonstrations of care and affection.

• We believe the entire Bible is inspired by God.
• We believe there is one true God revealed in three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
• We believe God passionately loves humanity
• We believe every person has sinned against God. This sin causes a disconnect from God
• We believe Jesus is God's Son. He was sent to earth to serve as a sacrifice that reconnects us with God.
• We believe Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus.
• We believe this reconnection occurs when an individual chooses to follow Christ, turning from an old way of life.
• We believe the life of a Christ-follower is not based upon perfection but faith in Jesus and the pursuit of a relationship with God.
• We believe that baptism by immersion, in water, is an outward sign of the inward work of salvation.
• We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, as read about in the Bible, is available for believers today.
• We believe that God can heal physical illness through following the instructions of Scripture to lay hands on those who are sick and pray in faith.  
• We believe communion is a symbolic remembrance of Christ's act of love and serves as an essential aspect of the life of a believer.
• We believe in "acceptable" and "true" worship as prescribed by God Himself in His Word. This embodies both individual and corporate expressions of joyous praise, worship, and thanksgiving as well as reverent humbling of ourselves as an expression of our adoration of Him.
• We believe that the purposes of the Church are as follows: being a corporate body in which man may worship God, being a channel of God's purposes in the earth and being an organism for training and equipping the Body of Christ for evangelism, service and other works of ministry.
• We believe there is an adversary to man and God known as Satan.
• We believe the Church serves as an ambassador, communicating the message of Jesus and establishing his Kingdom in the world.
• We believe one day Christ will return for the Church and take "her" to heaven.
• We believe every person will undergo judgment based upon what he/she did with Christ while living.
• We believe those who reject Christ will remain separated from God eternally in Hell after death.
• We believe those who embrace Christ will remain with Christ eternally in heaven after death.
  
   

Statement of Faith

- Mercy Ministries is a Full Gospel, Inter-Denominational church in Lucedale, MS.

- We are full Gospel in the sense that we believe all Scripture is alive and relevant in today's culture. We do not adhere to the thought that some portions of Scripture have "ceased" in our day. We determine to communicate the complete heart of the Bible to the people of our region and the world. 

- We are inter-denominational in the sense that we do not attach ourself to one particular group within Christianity. We are passionate about creating a culture that is conducive to people from all walks of life and various religious backgrounds. We welcome anyone who has a heart to experience or learn more about Jesus.
